If you are trying to find out whether a machine is still in existance, first check the UK government website of the DVLA

https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-tax/

Using the 'Vehicle Enquiry' option you can instantly see if the vehicle is either being used (i.e. it has a current vehicle excise licence, aka tax disc) or whether it is off the road and declared as such via a SORN.

If the vehicle cannot be found on the DVLA website, either it has been scrapped or is yet to be taxed/SORN and is in all probability sitting in a garage/shed somewhere !

Good luck

You can also check if an MOT certificate is legal or if a vehicle has failed an MOT test by doing an MOT check online. This will give you details about past tests.
