Just as a side note - I think this little tube isn't in fact threaded but as Rob had said the thread is in the bracket itself.

I do have some pictures on my phone which I will look through later.
If there is no joy I will look at my frame on Monday when I get into work.
After looking at pics the off side does not have the tube fitted. The near side does.
