Information relating to the Matchless G9 or AJS Model 20 500cc twin

G9 QD sprocket

Hi all, does anybody know why there are small holes drilled adjacent to each pin hole in the sprocket? 2 have been filled...I can't upload a pic...saying its too big a file..

Should have said the bike is 1955..

Possibly an attempt to stop the worn pin clonk.

My immediate thought too. Just ignore it and get some oversize pins, Les at Russels had a stock, not sure if they re used up.

Thanks for your help all, just thought I'd check to make sure I wasn't missing something...I don't know if it clonks yet as I have just got it and the wheels are away being rebuilt, I will check Russell motors out...
