rear shocks

Hello all,
I am in the process of getting my Harris Matchless back on the road,So be prepared for a few questions over the next month or so.
question number one
...has anyone fitted Hagon shocks to their bike,I purchased a pair about 2 yrs ago in preparation for the rebuild and finally tried to fit them this week,guess what..the drive side one will not fit due to the brake torque arm fouling it,has anyone got a work around for this. I will make contact with Hagon after the new year but was hoping it was just my stupidity and not the shock.
