The Stormer ISDT team didn't fare too badly in 1968.
The results of the '68 ISDT can be downloaded at http://www.speedtracktales@wordpress.com/fim
#19, Sgt. E.J. Thompson, 250 AJS, was retired on the first day.
#106, C.J. Stebbings, 250 AJS, received a bronze medal.
#112, Jon Tye, listed as riding a 360 AJS, also received a bronze.
#147, Wirdnam (only name given), listed as riding a 250 Matchless, also received a bronze.
Not too shabby, for a machine still in development. I wonder what they did to the engine to derate it to 14 hp. Possibly a Starmaker Trials top end?

Nice to see the photo of the 1968 ISDT team, and good to see Ted Thompson in the photo. I knew Ted when I was in the RAF and riding Enduro myself, Ted and I were stationed at RAF Waddington in 1975 and we went out riding the local green lanes together on a few occasions. I was just getting started in the sport at this time and Ted was a good teacher. Sadly Ted passed away in 2006.
