How to convert std. rigid subframe to trials?
I have heard rumors of modifying standard rigid rear subframe to match trials geometry. Is there a reference for this? Can someone point me in the right direction? - '49 G3L in the North American Section. Thanks.

If you look for a copy of Classic British Trials Bikes by Don Morley, published 1984 by Osprey you will get a complete chapter on the matter plus what is done nowadays. Page 17 even has a nice picture of the 1949 G3C for you to drool over. Best of luck, Bob

1949 models had the same style of frame for competition models, a shorter rear section came in 1950. So, the easiest way to get a "compy" is to stick to the '49. But, the short wheelbase does look more pukka, and can be converted from a standard frame - I know someone who's doing it. But, lots of things need altering, not least major surgery on the axle bracket castings at the rear.
