who is our X specialist? when & how did model X frames change? I require a frame for a 1930 model X2

Hi Pat,
I have a little info on X frame numbers, Unfortunately this is at the start of the Depression years and Matchless frame info gets a little sloppy. Anyway, the X2 & XR2 frame numbers for 1930 start at 1031 upwards. My 1931 info also has X3 & XR3 starting at 1031 upwards also but my 1932 info has the X3 & XR3 starting at 1920 upwards, so your 1930 frames are at the lower end of the 1031 upwards set. Sales seemed to slow dramatically for all motorcycles in 1931 so 1930 probably has the majority of numbers between the 1031 and 1920. Hope this helps, BOB
