Tyre recommendations

Post by WiltshireMike »

My '66 G2CSR came with a 3.25x17 Pirelli MT65 front tyre stamped 'US only' and a 3.50x17 Dunlop Gold Seal K70 on the rear with a 1986 date stamp in the DOT oval! Both are in good visual condition with full tread and no cracks, but they're an unknown quantity if I want to keep it shiny side up. I'd like to keep the original tread pattern of ribbed front and block rear, and see Demon Tweaks offer the CST (Chen Shing Tyres) ribbed in 3.00x17 and a block 3.50x17 at reasonable peices.

The owners manual doesn't list the original tyre size recommendations, so what are folks using? I've read the CST are quite heavy and stiff ...

I have fitted the following recently
Avon Safety Mileage 3.25-17 on the rear
Avon Speedmaster ribbed 3.25-17 on the front
Bike handles very well with these
