Hi
I realise this has probably been asked already.but i desperately ned to know whetre the 4 connections for the voltage regulator go ( as it is mot time on sat morn). At the moment it has 2 to the dynamo 1 to earth. But I am stumped by the 4th .
The machine no longer has the original lighting switch and has a later toggle type (on purpose) off a triumph (I think).
I am also stumped on wiring the ammeter in , it should be simple I know but it has been a while .
Many thanks Dave

FADE - D and F go to the similarly marked connections on the dynamo, E to earth, your fourth one A, goes to terminal 3 on the original switch. The ammeter connects across the latter terminal and battery negative. See wiring diagram here:- (Page 41)

Thanks folks ,ooops hadn't even realised it was pos earth !.should have checked closer when I pulled of the previous "spaghetti".
Any idea what terminal 3(lighting switch) serves.
Thanks again Dave

Wasn't sure about terminal 3 the switch had alot of wires going to it, it may ahve been connected to something else........he says blustering.
I've also found out that the battery was connected neg earth
by the previous owner and has run like that and "appears to charge when the lights are not on" although all the connections were very loose.
Is that possible to swap battery polarity with a dynamo of should it be wired poss earth only.
Sorry for all the quetsions but I am used to alternators and this is all a bit new to me .
many thanks dave

You can change the polarity of the dynamo to suit neg or pos. earth. Earth the required terminal of the battery, dissconect the F terminal from the dynamo and connect a wire to the other battery terminal and flash on the F terminal of the dynamo.
I changed my G11 to negative earth 'cos I bought the wrong regulator

I have just sorted out a bike that had the battery connected the opposite polarity to that which the dynamo had been flashed!
One of the give aways was when the owner was describing the problem he told me that the lights dimmed when the bike was revved.
Sent him away to reverse his battery connections and then everything worked perfectly.
I don't know how long his bttery will last now after that abuse!
