This photo's shows a members grandfather on an AJS - could we get a model number and possible year of manufacture please?

I really need frame / engine number to confirm year & model. Difficult to confirm year based on the reg. no. as DN was in use for many years.
The bike appears to be a 1928 AJS 500 c.c. OHV model G8

My May 1926 G8 is also York registered - DN 71**, which suggests this one could be around the same agee. Mine has the 'Big Port' style of down pipe that kicks out farther for'ard though rather than the more vertical section than the K8 has. I think that 1926/27 saw the end of beaded edge tyres too.

Your reg.no. being higher than the bike in question certainly does suggest that also is 1926 Steve.
1926/27/28 differ very little. I thought I saw a 1928 silencer. We should agree the bike is 1926 not 1928, the pipe looks like 1926.
