Re using solid copper head gasket
Hi, has anyone had experience of re using the solid copper head gasket. I notice it's not a double sandwich type and just a solid piece, therefore just wondering if it's possible to re use just once without issues?

Hi
Yes you can re use but you would need to anneal it first.

As stated they can be reused but only for a few times as they eventually become too thin after several compressions. If in doubt as to how many times the annealing has been done, I'd buy new.

+1 for ajscomboman's comment, above. Some time ago I did a bit of measuring and found that on a several times re-used gasket there was very little "nip" between head and barrel.
