From an email just received.....


Hi, I noticed recently there is a newish AJS Cadwell 125 that appears to be abandoned on the street, presumably after being stolen and joy ridden.
Both handlebar levers are damaged. Number plate is missing. Happy to sent photos inc frame number and exact location if it helps the owner locate the bike.

I'll have it and turn it into something nicer

Is it collect only or is there a courier?

Has anyone fessed up to owning it yet?

I hope some advised that the best people to tell would be the Police so they can hopefully get the bike back to the owner.

Nope, not me. I still have my uninspiring Chinese 250 'Mutchless' which apart from the two-tone iron oxide patina'd chromeware and liquorice sprockets has been very reliable.
The 'Owner Notesbook' tells me to.... 'Turn down the petrol tap before jumping off any longer'.... and 'The recommended sparkplug is SAE15W/40W or SAE 10W/30W in North East and North West China' and.... 'After selecting a gear the lever will return home', plus the warning.... 'Wear well fitting dress. Loose and fancy dress make you incomfortable and unsafe. Riding on the cradle, a well fitting dress may give freedom for activities of your arms and legs. High quality and tight dress shall be your selection'.

Good idea. It'd be a shame to let it rust away when it could be useful when returned to its original state ........perhaps as a washing machine and a set of saucepans?
