Rear lamp question

Good afternoon all,

I notice in my 1947 G3L manual that a rear brake lamp was an option ( shown in the wring diagram page 77 ). My question is, what type of lamp would have been fitted for this option? Would it have been a Lucas 564 type or something completely different? My ‘47 has a 564 type but not sure this would be correct.
I cant seem to find a reference in any spares manuals of the time.

Regards

Steve

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I have the WT-203 in my spares box. However, the bike has the correct stop lamp switch etc. which obviously cannot be set up with the WT-203.
Unless I can find a specific part number it’s really difficult to work out which lamp was originally fitted. The 564 type, I think, was not around in 1947.

I took a look on the link you kindly supplied. The lamp does, in the additional details, refer to brake light but not in the main title.
I will investigate!

Thanks,

Steve

According to AMOC spares, they are showing the MT211 which they have in stock. So, unless I hear different, I’ll take that as being correct.

Thanks all,

Steve

Lucas MT211 look much closer to original , I have a feeling its a bit larger diameter and what i fitted to my 1946 G80L
the WT203 was the same size as a old airfiX paint pot from memory

Hi,
Thanks for input. I’ve ordered one from the club shop after looking at a few ( cheaper but questionable ) options. The club one looks just about right ( as it should do ) so, hopefully, it will be fine.
