I will have ago at answering the question. Firstly in should be possible to fit the later full width hub if you get the necessary brake arm. However the real question is why? They are all single leading, single trailing shoe brakes with the same size brake shoes as the half width hub. Braking efficiency depends on the brake lining so no point in making the change from the half width hub. It was all smoke and mirrors to make it look like they had updated the brakes. As far as I am aware none of the standard post-war AMC hubs were Twin leading shoe. The main thing is to just leave a bit more gap between you and the car ahead!!!
